Bree Williamson returning to General Hospital

Heads up, General Hospital fans: Bree Williamson (Claudette Beaulieu) is on her way back to Port Charles -- and she'll be back on the canvas sooner than you might think.

Summer may be over, but Port Charles is about to get sizzling hot: Soap Central has learned that Bree Williamson will soon be back on-screen as General Hospital's feisty graphic designer Claudette Beaulieu.

According to a set side source, the actress began taping several weeks ago and will reappear on-screen this week. And it seems Claudette, who disappeared from the canvas last November and was presumed dead in January, may very well be alive and well.

Fans who have followed Williamson's status with the ABC soap may not be surprised to hear the former One Life to Live star has returned. After all, she was quite vocal about the door having been left open for Claudette to come back in the future.

"She'll be back," the Canadian teased last fall. "And I am absolutely open to that."

Since leaving GH last November, Williamson appeared in BET's John Singleton-created police drama Rebel and the television series Private Eyes. Soap opera fans also know her as OLTL's Jessica Buchanan, a role she played from 2004 to 2012 and just recently said she'd planned to exit before the show was canceled.

What do you think about Williamson returning to GH? What do you think really happened to Claudette last year? What would you like to see for the character when she pops back up in Port Charles?
